For this final project, we are required to create a layout composition artwork and animate it using Adobe After Effect. The theme for this project is about a surrealistic dream.

The first thing that came into my mind is rococo art. I really like the subtleness and vintage feel of rococo art. Besides, I have always love rococo architecture and it would be a dream come true for me to visit some rococo architecture buildings.

Then, I had the idea of me being seen through something like a 'frame'. I started finding image like this so see which is the most suitable.

Since we are not allowed to abroad for vacation during this whole pandemic, I started thinking that it would be so nice to have a private jet or a magic carpet to travel around the world. Then I came up with an idea of me floating on a mini ufo.

After choosing the ufo image I moved on to take a picture of myself to look like I'm sitting on a ufo.

For the background, I have decided to use a sky picture that I took from my balcony.

Then, I moved on to start editing my work, I used blending tools to blend the pictures together so that it will have a vintage-looking effect.

After comparing both pictures, I have decided to go for the one with the old paper texture because it looks more vintage which is why I have chosen to use rococo as my theme.

After listening to Mr Fauzi's feedback, he mentioned that my picture doesn't really fit the theme that I am going for. He suggested that I wear something that is more fancy and suitable for my theme. Hence, I have decided to retake my picture. 

I took the picture of myself lying on my blanket so that it will look more natural and will be about to blend in better when I edit myself on a cloud.

Then I started out by editing myself lying on the cloud. Besides, I have also matched the colour of my picture with the clouds so that it will look more suitable.

After finalising my composition, I moved on to make my animation video on adobe after effect. I followed sir's instructions by creating different folders at the beginning to avoid confusion.

In the tutorial class, sir mentioned that it is really important to import our PSD file from photoshop in  'Composition- Retain layer style' mode.

Moving on next, I started to animate the composition I have created on Photoshop.

After completing my animation, I added my file to the rendering list to export it.

After exporting my animation video, I uploaded the video on youtube.

After seeing my animated composition, Mr Fauzi said that it looks good but the scale myself could be bigger. Hence, I have made some amendments on Animated Composition.

However, I realised that the resolution drops quite a lot when I make the scale my picture bigger as the quality of my image is not that good. Hence, I have decided to choose the one with a smaller scale as my final short animated composition.

Reflection:
At the beginning of the animation part of this assignment, it was quite intimidating as I am not familiar with the software. However, I think Mr Fauzi really did a good job on explaining the process quite clear and I was able to follow by rewatching the tutorial videos. Overall, I am actually quite satisfied with the outcome of this project.
