Week 1

I was absent on the first week because I was sick. I went on Teams to get the information for our upcoming tasks. Besides, I've also ask Rhyanne and she sent a detailed message telling me what did Ms Anis have told the rest in class.

Our task this week is:

-By week 2 we need a chosen SDG topic and an idea on what to do for our design output

For this module we need a chosen SDG topic and execute a design work that ties with the topic we've chosen. We were reminded that our work needs to include a sense of playfulness. Besides, we are also encouraged to take part in the Maybank Foundation MyTIGER Values Art Competition 2023.

Week 2

On this week, ms gave us a lecture about "Visual communication as persuasive medium". During class, she showed a few visually powerful examples that uses visuals to communicate rather than words. Those examples does not have much words in them OR only in short sentences that are designed in a way to provoke emotions. 

This week, our task is to find one example of good and poorly designed social awareness visual and discuss the pros and cons of each design.We were advised to try and find ones that are similar to our projects.

Week 3

This week's lecture was conducted online. Our lecture this week was about "Ethics in Design" which revolves around Cultural Intelligence & Communication Basics. In this lecture, ms showed us a few example and we're reminded that we need to be careful with the use of elements in our design and we should test them by doing researches and surveys before putting it out there to avoid misunderstanding and coming cross as offensive.

This week, our task is to look for potential cultural challenges in your project and how would your address this matter if there is one, based on our current project & also to rationalize design consideration into our current project.

REFLECTION

Experience:

Throughout these 4-5 weeks, I think the lectures that Ms Anis provided is very helpful and I think the topic we've discussed is closely tied to the project we are doing. I was a little nervous but I'm glad that my proposal presentation went well. 

Observation:

I've learned to put in more consideration when it comes to creating a design. I've also observed that it's important to do research before creating any design so that it will offend any party. 

Findings:

I realized that it to come up a design that is visually impactful, having the thoughts and consideration in many different aspects is crucial. I also find myself getting better at making presentation briefer and on point which I noticed that many students failed to straight to the point and put too much words on presentation slide like I used to.
