INSTRUCTIONS & LECTURES
Final Assignment 3 (Research Implementation - Primary Data)
FEEDBACKS
1. I need to give descriptions and justifications for my research methods.
2. Dr Jinchi suggested that it would be more related to my research problem to design questions that are more general instead.
3. For all the justifications, use secondary data to support my statements
4. For my research method 1:
- Identify and describe my focus group (who are the respondents and why them, justify)
- Plan how it will be carried out and its duration.
- Suggestion: Include other products to be more general
- A survey would be better compared to an interview to understand and get data accurately.
- For the answer variables, why are these options given, justify and support with secondary data to support
- Suggestion: instead of making it open-ended questions, it would be better to add an option for the respondents to add on their answer instead, so that the answer is guided and for easier tabulation.
- Detailed analysis
- Clear categorization of data
- Remove the word company and change it into the word "brand"
- The hypothesis in the last part (survey) draws implausible conclusions as it does not seem to have a correlation the question designed, (remove/rephrase in a way to make sense)
- Exclude problem statement
- Use the word “Key literature”
- Include one more literature review, remove point for “weakness”
- Slide 12: Remove the word method and focus group
- Be consistent in presenting data analysis
- Add method justification (for both methods)
- Explain survey targets the 3 aspects
- Summarize the ‘Consumers’ Perceptions” into 2 slides
- Simplify slides for the online quiz, show the findings only
- Conclusion: Underline the important words
- Well prepared, with one backup method
- Methods are well justified
- Analysis of data is detailed, I’ve written not only what the data shows but what it means as well which is helpful for the dissertation
REFLECTION
I find assignment 3 the most challenging in this module. While designing the research for my research, I find it challenging as I constantly question myself whether if the methods and questions that I've designed are effective enough to collect the data that I would like to find out, which was quite a struggle. I think it is helpful that we are required to provide justifications for our methods and questions designed so that it guides me to get an idea of what will the possible outcome of the data collected to be like and how will that be beneficial to my research.
