LECTURES

Week 1

Selecting 3 favourite special effects videos created by Zach King

The reason why I've chosen this video is that I like the dramatic effect of the sound which is quite satisfying to me and the smooth transition especially when the tomato turns into a puree.

I've chosen this as one of my top 3 videos as the transition when it transformed from an iPad into a book was so seamless and smooth.

This is probably my favourite video out of the many videos I've watched from Zach King. I like the idea of extracting the apple out from the artwork into an actual apple and putting it back a bitten one, changing the original form of artwork.

FEEDBACKS

Week 5

After receiving feedback from sir, I've cut down some of the scenes in my storyboard so that they will be straight to the point and within 30 seconds.

Week 7

Sir reminded me that after the popcorn is extracted out, the screen should be blank. Besides, he also asked me to reshoot my eating scene from a different angle to avoid a jump cut in my video. He also told me the colour correction between the last two scenes is a little different.

REFLECTIONS

In this project, I have learned about the importance of storyboard and also composition and framing. I learned that it is important to have everything well planned before shooting to avoid further hassle later on because all the props, attires and lightings are some of the factors that need to be considered. Also, I have learned that jump cuts should always be avoided unless in certain specific situations.
