REFLECTION

Throughout all these exercises and projects, I learned a lot and had fun doing all these assignments. For someone like me that doesn't have much experience in digital illustration art, it was honestly quite intimidating at first. I remember being so lost and confused with all the tools in illustrator and didn't know how to construct out the ideas and didn't know where to begin. However, throughout all the practices, I got to explore to so much more illustration style by doing research and illustrate my ideas out by using illustration style that I like, which was an eye-opening journey to me.

I realised that there are endless ways and approaches when it comes to digital art. For example, I had no idea that photoshop could be used to illustrate before this and all I knew about photoshop was just a software to edit images. However, after exploring on photoshop, I found out that illustrating using photoshop could bring so much more possibilities by using blending modes and effects which I find really amusing. Moreover, I have also learned a lot while doing our final project on the animation part. To be honest, making an animation almost seemed like an impossible task for me at first. It was quite complicated to learn step by step to animate my video at first. After watching many of youtube tutorials, I realised that there are so many different animation techniques, either using photoshop or after effect. Even though the process of figuring things out was quite frustrating, I am glad that I am able to pull through and I have really learned a lot.

One of the most important things that I have learned in this module is that some visual style requires more advanced skills, and to have the ability to construct it requires more efforts, time and practices. After doing these assignments, I feel like I am able to draw in more visual styles that are more complex that I couldn't do before. Overall, I have learned a lot in this module and I still feel like there is still so much more to explore on. I can't wait to use the knowledge and experience that I had to try more visual styles and create more artwork!
